After several years as a musician, with the groups Gollum Friends and Chez Pacheco, I began writing and directing plays in 2008. My first play, The Game (La partida) won the jury’s special prize and the audience award for best play at the 13th Barcelona theatre showcase. In 2009 it ran at the Teatre del Raval (Barcelona) and the Teatro Arenal (Madrid), extending both runs. My second play, De la misma pasta, won the Kutxa City of San Sebastián theatre award 2012 and was published by Alberdania. De la misma pasta was translated into English by Matthew Ward under the title Empty Bottles and was published in autumn 2014 in The Mecurian, the journal of the University of North Carolina Department of Dramatic Art. http://drama.unc.edu/files/2013/05/The-Mercurian-5.2.-Fall-2014.pdf In 2014 I wrote Paquito… Blood, Snot and Tears (Paquito… Lágrimas, mocos y sangre). The play premiered in March 2014 in the ‘Off’ space at the Teatro Lara, Madrid, returning to the same venue in December 2014 following a warm critical and public response. In June 2016 The Game was revived at in the Teatro Lara’s main house, and will run at Madrid’s Teatro Fígaro in 2017.
