2 June 1975. 150 prostitutes lock themselves in the Church of Saint-Nizier in protest at the crime-wave taking place in France. What begins as a seemingly isolated movement starts to grow and the news is covered by French TV and radio as other churches are occupied and demonstrations for and against break out. A finalist in the European Pop Drama playwriting award (Spain and Latin America), this play is based on real events and was written to commemorate International Sex Workers’ Day. The story of the sit-in is told by three women and a French television camera. Humour and everyday behaviour give way to a sense of urgency when news comes of the imminent arrival of the police.
