Jane vive en una casa de campo entre maizales en el pueblo imaginario de Eastfolk, en Nebraska. Una mañana, mientras se prepara para la llegada de un tornado al que han bautizado como Nora, recibe la visita de Owen, su hermano mayor, que se había ido de casa quince años antes. Allí, en la sala de estar de la casa en la que se criaron, la que
fuera de sus padres ya muertos, rememoran su infancia y juventud y Owen le desvela la trágica razón de su marcha. Todo mientras Nora se acerca.
Jane lives in a farmhouse among cornfields in the imaginary village of Eastfolk, Nebraska. One morning, as she prepares for the arrival of a tornado they have christened Nora, she is visited by Owen, her older brother, who had left home fifteen years earlier. There, in the living room of the house where they were raised, the one Out of their parents already dead, they remember his childhood and youth and Owen reveals to him the tragic reason of his leaving. Everything while Nora approaches.
