Blanca Doménech


Licenciada en Dramaturgia por la Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático de Madrid, la creación dramática más destacada de Blanca Doménech incluye: Eco (Ed. Fundamentos), Vagamundos (Premio Nacional Calderón de la Barca 2009. Ed. CDT), La musa (Premio AAT 2013. Ed. AAT / F, Sgae), Punto muerto (Acotaciones Nº28 y Primer Acto Nº343), Pioneras (Primer Acto Nº345), Boomerang (Centro Dramático Nacional), Brain (Iberescena), El mal de la piedra (Gobierno del Estado de México), Páginas para un sujeto (Centro Dramático Nacional) e Hydra (Fundación BBVA - Universidad de Columbia de Nueva York). Entre las puestas en escena más significativas de sus obras: Punto muerto (Theatre Uncut 2012- Young Vic Theatre de Londres); Boomerang (Centro Dramático Nacional y Teatro del Arte de Moscú); Brain (Iberescena - IATI Theatre de Nueva York); El mal de la piedra (King´s College de Londres, Access Theater de Nueva York y Sala Berlanga de Madrid) y Páginas para un sujeto (Centro Dramático Nacional).


Blanca Doménech holds a BA in Playwriting and Theatre Science from the Spanish royal academy of dramatic art (RESAD). Published works include Echo (Eco, published by Fundamentos), Vagamonde (Vagamundos, winner of the 2009 Calderón de la Barca award and published by CDT), The Muse (La musa, winner of the 2013 Spanish playwrights association [AAT] award 2013 and published by the AAT and the Spanish society of authors [SGAE]) Dead Point (Punto muerto, published in Acotaciones magazine issue 28 and in Primer Acto magazine, issue 343), Pioneras (Pioneers, published in Primer Acto issue 345), Boomerang (CDN, the national theatre of Spain), Brain (Iberescena), The Sickness of Stone (El mal de la piedra, published by the State Government of Mexico), Pages for a Subject (Páginas para un sujeto, CDN), and Hydra (BBVA Foundation and Columbia University, New York). Highlights from productions of her plays include Dead Point (Punto muerto, Theatre Uncut at the Young Vic, London, 2012); Boomerang (CDN and the Moscow Arts Theatre), Brain (Iberescena, IATI Theatre, New York), The Sickness of Stone (King’s College London, Access Theater New York and the Sala Berlanga, Madrid), and Pages for a Subject (CDN). In 2016 she was awarded a grant by the BBVA Foundation for Hydra, which she researched at the Columbia University Neurotechnology Laboratory, New York.
