Ruth Vilar

RUTH VILAR [Zaragoza, 1978] Autora, directora e investigadora teatral, miembro fundadora de la compañía Cos de Lletra. Licenciada en el Institut del Teatre de Barcelona. Máster de Creación Literaria en la Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Forma parte de la AAT, el Colectivo del Texto y el Laboratorio Rivas Cherif del CDN. Catalandrama y Contexto Teatral acogen algunas de sus obras. Ha estrenado sus textos "Las ávidas raíces", "La puerta blindada" y "Muescas más hondas", así como dramaturgias de "Los niños tontos" de Ana María Matute y "Mañana, mañana", teatro inconcluso de Federico García Lorca –espectáculos de Cos de Lletra dirigidos por ella misma–. Premio Domingo Pérez Minik de la Universidad de La Laguna (2016) y X Premi de Calldetenes (2017). Autora del prólogo de "Teatro Unido" de José Sanchis Sinisterra (La Uña Rota, 2018). Traductora de "Temps real" de Albert Mestres (Paso de Gato, 2017). Colaboradora de las revistas Primer Acto, Quimera, (Pausa.), ADE Teatro y Las puertas del drama.

Writer, director, actor and member of the Cos de LLetra company, Ruth Vilar was born in Zaragoza in 1978. She holds a BA from the Institut del Teatre, Barcelona, and an MA in Creative Writing from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. She is a member of the Rivas Cherif playwriting workshop at the national theatre of Spain (CDN). She has written a dozen plays, including This Bitter Apple (Esa manzana amarga), published in 2016 by NTF; Five Sticks of Land (Cinc vares de terra), published by Romea in 2015; The Tragic Death of the Bearded Lady (La tràgica mort de la barbuda), published by Primavera Vaca in 2013, and The Quartering (El despiece), published by Obrador in 2011. She has also written several short plays, published by Quimera and Cos de Lletra Escrits Teatrals between 2006 and 2015. She was the director and dramaturg on P. Calders’ The Tail of Paradise (La cua del Paradis, Teatre de Ponent, 2013), on A. M. Matute’s The Stupid Children (Los niños tontos, published by Maldà in 2012 and a finalist in the 2014 Torrejón de Ardoz Directing Competition), and on Lorca’s Tomorrow, Tomorrow (Mañana, mañana, published by Maldà in 2011). She works with Quimera, ADE Teatro, Pausa and Cos de Lletra Escrits Teatrals writing articles, reviews, interviews and original dramatic works.
