La armonía de las esferas
La obra se inspira en el caso real de Billy Tipton, un músico de jazz que falleció en la Norteamérica de finales de los años 1980. Tras realizarle la autopsia, para sorpresa de sus hijos, el médico reveló a la familia que sus órganos genitales eran los de una mujer. Sobre esta base real da inicio la ficción, una búsqueda de la auténtica identidad de Billy por parte de su hijo Scott, que irá desvelando el incierto pasado de su padre. Su periplo lo llevará al nacimiento en Oklahoma del que creyó su padre, Dorothy, donde, desarmado ya de todo rasgo identitario, no podrá más que reconstruirse con los fragmentos –hilos y flecos restantes– de un mapa totalmente nuevo y desconocido para el personaje.
The play is inspired by the real case of Billy Tipton, a jazz musician who died in North America in the late 1980s. After concluding an autopsy, to his children's surprise, the doctor revealed to the family that his sexual features and genital organs were those of a woman. On this real basis, the fiction starts, a search for Billy's true identity by his son Scott, who will reveal his father's uncertain past. His journey will lead him to the birth in Oklahoma of whom he believed was his father up to this time, Dorothy, where, already disarmed of all identity traits, he can only rebuild himself with the fragments - remaining threads and fringes - of a totally new map, unknown to the character.
