Electra´s Furies

En Las Furias de Electra me desligo de la grandeza clásica del Mito para mostrar su podredumbre, una podredumbre común a todos, exponiendo, de este modo, a una Electra actual, una Electra totalmente contemporánea capaz de hacernos reflexionar sobre nuestra vida cotidiana. Es Electra después de Electra. Ella es el punto de origen del Mito, por eso es el único personaje reconocido frente a los demás: Enfermas e Imágenes Mentales. El antiguo coro griego es sustituido por las tres Enfermas que, sin intervenir en la acción, dan cuenta de los hechos que se desarrollan. Esta Electra es la llave de acceso al infierno. Las palabras tienen la tarea de situar al espectador en una serie de imágenes de conducta horrible y bestial, que ubica de inmediato en un espacio angosto y oscuro, poblado de personajes deformes de cuerpo y alma. Por ello, toda la obra transcurre en un basurero.

In Electra´s Furies I detach from the classic grandeur of the Mith to show putrefaction, the putrefaction we all have in common, exposing, therefore, a contemporary Electra, able to make us reflect on our daily life. It is Electra after Electra. She is the Mith starting point, the only recognisable character among the others: Sick Women and Mental Images. The ancient Greek chorus is replaced by three Sick Women who, without taking part in the action, give an account of the developments. This Electra is the key to Hell. Words place the audience before a series of brutal and horrible behavioural images, immediately placing them in a dark and narrow space populated by characters deformed in body and soul. And so, the whole play takes place in a rubbish dump.
