Sinopsis A Miguel Hernández, preso, le visitan sus fantasmas. Josefina; Ramón Sijé; Pablo Neruda, y una misteriosa mujer que tal vez conoció en Madrid. Esta visita nos arrastrará directamente al pasado en un viaje apasionado por los versos de la vida, del amor y de la muerte. Porque Miguel tiene que tomar su última decisión, la quee supone escoger en un antiguo dilema entre la conciencia y la vida. "Miguel Hernández" recorre la vida del poeta desde su adolescencia hasta su muerte, en 1942 en el Penal de adultos de Alicante, donde cumplía la condena por rebelión (sic) que le impuso el tribunal militar por el que fue juzgado al término de la guerra civil. En esos cortos catorce años, Miguel cambia Orihuela por el Madrid en ebullición de los años treinta, se enamora, cambia, lucha, hace la guerra, se casa, tiene hijos, es encarcelado... y deja detrás suyo una obra poética -más de 25.000 versos- que configura una de las poéticas mas hermosas e interesantes de la poesía española del siglo XX.

Synopsis First staged in 2000, "Miguel Hernández" obtained the I Award of Scenic Arts of Lleida. But this is not just one play about a great poet. This is a play about how joy and emotions spring when we realize that reality and poetry intertwine brilliantly in this extraordinary poet. This is not only a story about life, love and death... but also about words, thinking and smiles. This is a true story and a passionate fiction. But, above all, this is a theatre play seeking to touch the audience the same way it touched us. Miguel Hernandez is visited by his ghosts: his wife Josefina, his childhood best friend Ramón Sijé; an admired poet and friend, Pablo Neruda, and a mysterious woman he met perhaps in Madrid. All of them passed by the Jail of Alicante where Miguel spent his last days... This visit takes us to the past, to the youth of the poet with the “face of potato”, to the years of the Spanish Republic and the Civil War, in an enthusiastic trip across the verses of life, love and death. Because Miguel Hernández has to make up his mind, in the prisons and the pressures, choosing the correct option in an old dilemma between conscience and life. This decision will mark the play in the same way it marks the life and works of the poet, always in a fight between the roots and the wings, between his rural origin and his artistic aspirations, between his love for Josefina and the learned women that Madrid introduced him; between going back to his family or taking advantage of an unexpected release to emigrate to freedom; between his wife and his political commitments… Miguel Hernández is the committed poet between two literary generations, between two visions of Spain, who will be always established in the maximal humanity.
