Sinopsis 1856, Castilla; la carestía de pan y la miseria provocan el descontento entre las clases populares, y en el barrio de La Puebla, el más humilde de la ciudad, surge la revuelta. Guiados por la joven Dorotea Santos, apodada la Cascaja, los vecinos prenden fuego a tres harineras. La llama se propaga… Asistimos a lo que la Historia ha conocido como los “motines del pan”, con sus hechos turbadores y sus posteriores consecuencias.

Synopsis 1856, Castile; The shortage of bread and misery provoke discontent among the popular classes, and in the neighborhood of La Puebla, the most humble in the city, revolt arises. Guided by the young Dorotea Santos, nicknamed La Cascaja, the neighbors set three flour mills on fire. The flame spreads… We are witnessing what History has known as the “bread riots”, with their disturbing events and subsequent consequences.
